Animated cartoons: using mobile phones for health [and farming] messages

Scientific Animations Without Borders, University of Illinois, USA has already produced one such example on the prevention of cholera and others on topics for rural farmers. The narrations could be translated into local languages and thus could reach low-literacy communities.

Probably the main barriers to their application is that not all mobile phones have video capabilities and many women in rural do not own their own phone.
