Uganda / UK : Mulago Hospital and Liverpool Women’s Hospital and University Health Link

As part of the development of high dependency unit in Mulago Hospital, visitors from the UK spent 5 weeks in 2010 working with the Records Manager in the Obstetrics Department to produce the first Annual Benchmarking Report on Maternal and Perinatal Mortality at Mulago Hosital. The project was later awarded two Commonwealth Professional Fellowships to enable the Deputy Manager and his assistant to spend a month alongside the evaluation team in Liverpool in February 2011. The skills they acquired are to help the department in Mulago to develop rigorous and sustainable data collection methods.
