I’m the Librarian and one of the research assistants at the Center for the Development of Best Practices in Health, Yaoundé-Cameroon.
The library is opened to medical students, researchers and to the general public. I run an information literacy course to users of the library. For instance the first was for the Center’s researchers, subsequently I gave a course at the faculty of health sciences on documentary research through the internet( medical databases, the Center’s website). These courses continue whenever the need arises.
My work as a research assistant consists of researching health information with the researchers of the Center, participating in the writing of policy briefs, carrying out evidence assessment of systematic reviews and translating systematic reviews. I work with a team of research assistants who collaborate with the main researchers in the search of evidence to elaborate policy oriented papers.
