Strengthening Surgical Capacity Fund – Round 2

THET is pleased to announce a call for applications for Round 2 of the Strengthening Surgical Capacity (SSC) Fund Grants.

The purpose of the SSC fund is to improve health outcomes for people living in sub-Saharan Africa by leveraging the skills and expertise of UK health professionals.

The SSC fund will provide three grants of up to £9,000 for a twelve month project. Projects will focus on reducing morbidity and mortality from conditions requiring surgical intervention and/or enhancing patient safety as a result of improved anaesthetic care. These projects should additionally have a focus on maternal and child health. The fund will support projects that mobilise UK health workers to develop the capacity of health workers in sub-Saharan Africa through skills transfer, training and mentoring and other collaborative work.
