African Public Libraries Summit: Informing Africa, Developing Africa

On 19 September 2012, the first-ever continent-wide convening of public library leaders and policymakers met under the theme of “Informing Africa, Developing Africa.” The summit took place in Johannesburg, South Africa. Over the course of three days, delegates engaged with each other to discuss the opportunities for creating successful, 21st century libraries that contribute to the development priorities of African communities, countries and continent.

Reports and presentations from the conference are now available on the website, some referring to a proposed African Public Library Network.
