OPT-IN : Overseas Partnering and Training Initiative

This charity was founded in 2000 and works from the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust to deliver training with partner hospitals in low income countries which will ” result  in the sustained development in the health care services within these countries- Bangladesh, Madagascar, Swaziland, Uganda”.

Thanks to the HIFA post on 7th July we learn that they have been involved in the ” teaching of the rehabilitation of stroke at the second international congress of the Association of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine of Madagascar in April. THis was highly successful but we were all aware that very few in the country get access to rehabilitation as yet and this applies to many in much of sub Saharan Africa “.

See their website.
